Spring Playgrounds was selected to create a compact yet premium playground that would make a strong visual statement, despite the site’s unusual teardrop shape and limited space.

About the Project and the Process

The playground was designed for a luxury condominium community surrounded by the bay on all sides.

The area available for installation was approximately the size of a tennis court, requiring creative planning and precise engineering to ensure the efficient use of every square metre.

The final concept includes the Detroit Extreme Play System, a bird’s nest swing, two benches, and custom-designed shading that blends seamlessly with the island’s refined architecture and natural surroundings.

The result is a small yet impressive playground offering residents a stylish and enjoyable recreational area

Highlights of the Project

Client Requirements

The client sought a playground that would reflect the architectural character of the island and offer a distinctive play experience for residents, within a limited and irregularly shaped plot.

The focus was on combining high aesthetics, safety, and durability with elegant design.

Design Process

Given the site’s complex geometry and underground infrastructure, the design team developed several layout alternatives before achieving the perfect balance of form and function.

Every structural and shading element was positioned with meticulous attention to detail, maximising play value while preserving an open and elegant appearance.

Design Concept

The design draws inspiration from the island’s organic contours and its panoramic waterfront views. Soft curves, natural materials, and subtle colour combinations create a harmonious dialogue between the playground and its surroundings.
